ILLUSION
I excavated the bridges
That linked our lives.
Don’t try to re-build
Don’t dare re-enter my life.
A wall now stood between us;
There is no way to get through
From your life to mine
Unless to dismantle it
Brick by brick
Until completely gone,
Totally way out of sight.
What we had was just a dream.
Here for an instant
Vanishing the next.
All of life is like that
Nothing really stable
Enough to hold on to
For more than a moment.
No one can trust anyone.
From this mirage,
Lessons were learned.
No one came out unscarred;
But we learn
By what we suffer;
The dream ended
I came out the other side…
A different person,
Did you not?
It’s hard to keep
An honest friendship
When a relationship
Had not worked out.
Give me time to heal.
When the wound
Closed in on itself,
Then it may
Be possibly easier;
The moment when
I could feel
No pain,
No bitterness,
No nothing…
Only peace;
By then,
We could become
Friends…better ones
For real.
